Role Overview

As a Desktop Support Engineer at JalKhabo, you'll be the first point of contact for all hardware and software issues across our offices. You'll install, configure, troubleshoot and maintain end-user systems, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity for our teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure and upgrade desktops, laptops, printers and peripherals.
  • Provide Tier 1 & 2 technical support for Windows, macOS and Linux systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware/software/network connectivity issues.
  • Set up and manage user accounts, email, VPN and Active Directory.
  • Maintain IT asset inventory and update documentation.
  • Coordinate with vendors for hardware repair and warranty replacements.
  • Assist in deploying software updates, patches and antivirus tools.
  • Support onboarding/offboarding of employees — provision and decommission devices.
  • Ensure data backup procedures are followed and assist with recovery.
  • Provide remote support to distributed team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1–3 years of hands-on desktop support experience in a professional environment.
  • Solid knowledge of Windows 10/11, basic macOS and Linux troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Active Directory, Office 365 / Google Workspace administration.
  • Understanding of TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP and Wi-Fi troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems (Freshdesk, Jira Service Management, Zendesk).
  • Strong communication skills — able to explain tech issues to non-technical users.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple open tickets simultaneously.

Nice to Have

  • CompTIA A+, Network+ or Microsoft certifications.
  • Experience in a startup or fast-paced tech/food-delivery company.
  • Basic scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash).
  • Knowledge of MDM tools (Jamf, Intune, ManageEngine).
